GoodBye!

To all our loyal customer and friends,

Its with heavy heavy hearts that Chrissy and I have decided to close Otaku Katsu at 137 rivington st. Everyone is dealing with and has seen the devastating impact covid-19 has had on NYC in general, and the rest of the world. Its always hard to say goodbye, especially when we  both put all our heart and soul (the blood sweat and tears!) into this little semi-basement in the LES. It was our first venture on our own, and was received amazingly and was gaining momentum until the coronavirus attacked.

We just could not keep going in this economical and social climate. With the coming of winter, there is an uncertainty about restaurants in NYC, let alone in the LES (the sixth borough). All the help from the city, out landlords, and the federal gov't was too little too late for restaurants like ours. It's a shame that so many people are suffering, and at this time we need to recover from the fallout of closing a business. 

For now, Let's consider this a short goodbye. A hibernation, if you will. We hope to come back in the springtime crispier and more tasty than ever(albeit in a different location, still able to serve our loyal patrons and friends!)
